8 Things to Do on Fireworks Maui New Years Events 2024

Aloha and happy almost 2024, Maui fam!

Fireworks Maui New Years Eve is just around the corner, which means it’s time to figure out where to camp out for the best fireworks shows on the island.

We rounded up 8 sweet spots to watch the fireworks pop off.

Fireworks Maui New Years

1.      Front Street, Lahaina Fireworks Maui New Years

For straight-up iconic NYE views, you can’t beat Front Street in Lahaina. Join the throngs ogling the show from the famous row of palm trees lining the harbor.

Families stake out spots early with beach chairs and blankets.

Or post up at a restaurant patio along the water, like Kimo’s or Mala Ocean Tavern, for prime viewing.

Watch bursts of color reflect off the calm waters as thousands cheer “Happy New Year!” into the night sky. It gets packed, but the communal atmosphere and amazing fireworks make it a quintessential Maui experience.

The show usually starts around midnight and lasts 15-20 minutes.

2.      Ka’anapali Beach

Another perfect place to lay out and enjoy the display is Ka’anapali Beach near Black Rock. The north end offers a chill, less crowded vibe than central Lahaina.

Find an open patch of sand as the sun goes down and spend the evening swimming in the warm water, waiting for the main event.

When the fireworks kick off, you have seats to an overhead spectacle with sand between your toes.

Relaxing and romantic! Bring beach chairs, blankets, and snacks to make a night of it.

The prime real estate fills up fast, so arrive a few hours pre-show. Post up, then ooh and aah as the sky ignites in a dazzling performance.

3.      Wailea Beach Resort

For upscale NYE celebrations, the Wailea Resorts put on quite the show!

They launch fireworks from the beaches so you can take in all the sparkle and pop while strolling the stunning grounds. We’d recommend the Grand Wailea NYE gala – they spare no expense, transforming the resort into an extravagant party.

Put on your best dress or aloha shirt and enjoy roaming musicians, luxe bites and drinks, a champagne toast at midnight, photo ops, and more.

When the Fireworks Maui New Years start, head outside to “ooh” and “ahh” from the pool deck or find a blanket on the manicured grass.

Fancy and fabulous!

4.      Kapalua Bay

Up in Kapalua, ring in 2024 Hawaiian style with fire dancers on the sand at Kapalua Bay. Grab a spot and watch mesmerizing routines as the sun sets over the water.

Food trucks dish up local grinds like shaved ice and plate lunch. Sip tropical cocktails and chill to live music until the big show.

When fireworks color the sky above the palms, you’ll feel the mana! Insider tip: park at the Napili Kai Beach Resort lot and walk to the beach.

Bring beach gear – it gets crowded. Arrive before 8 p.m. to stake out the perfect spot on the sand. Then settle in for an incredible display over the sparkling bay!

5.      Kamaole Beach Parks

For NYE with the locals, Kamaole Beach Parks in Kihei offers community fireworks shows at Kamaole I, II, and III. Pack a picnic dinner, beach toys for the kids, games, and blankets.

Settle in on the sand and enjoy the laid-back vibe. As midnight nears, join the anticipation building in the crowd. Food trucks provide tasty snacks and shave ice to fuel the revelry.

When the colorful show lights up over the water, families cheer, pop streamers, and even run into the ocean! It’s not fancy, but it’s still so much fun.

And you can walk between the three parks to find the perfect spot. Get there before 10 pm to post up for the show. Do also read8 Fort Collins Fireworks New Years Events You Must Visit

6.      Charley’s Restaurant, Paia

In funky Paia town, Charley’s Restaurant hosts an epic NYE bash with oceanfront seats to the fireworks. Dance the night away to live bands until it’s time for the main event.

Their outdoor garden has peek-a-boo views where you can sneak glimpses of the show along Baldwin Beach.

Make a reservation for the restaurant’s surf and turf dinner special – the filet and lobster tail hit the spot! Or come just for drinks on the patio after 10 p.m.

Watch bursts of color light up Charley’s gorgeous panoramic views over Paia Bay one more time to close out 2023 in style. Aloha to the new year!

7.      Fleetwood’s Rooftop, Lahaina

Another prime spot for Fireworks Maui New Years is the rooftop at Fleetwood’s in Lahaina. Enjoy sweeping views of Front Street from an epic perspective – two stories up!

With a central spot on the harbor, you have front-row seats when the show begins. Dance and sip cocktails as you wait for midnight. Also check Top 8 Fort Lauderdale Fireworks New Years Eve Events

Their package includes party favors, buffet dinner, dessert, and four hours of premium drinks – so you can revel in style! When the fireworks pop off, cheers with a glass of bubbly in hand and watch the spectacular show surround you 360 degrees from their open-air rooftop.

Pretty unforgettable to ring in 2024 from new heights!

8.      Maluaka Beach

Last but not least, my favorite low-key NYE spot is Maluaka Beach in Makena.

Most peeps flock to Wailea or Lahaina, leaving this south shore spot way less crowded.

Find a quiet place in the sand and watch waves crash onto the rocky shore as you wait for midnight. The sound of the ocean and calm bay will soothe your soul.

As the fireworks finale illuminates the night sky, breathe in the sea air and make a wish for 2024. Mother Nature provides her own show above humpback whales breaching offshore.

Maluaka offers peaceful Aloha vibes to welcome the new year under the stars.
